Rocking The Daisies 2024 – A Stellar Festival Weekend Under The Stars

Rocking the Daisies 2024 has wrapped up, leaving festival-goers buzzing with excitement after an unforgettable weekend of music, dancing, and euphoric vibes. With the theme “In the Stars,” the festival delivered an out-of-this-world experience, combining star-studded performances with sizzling summer temperatures that hit the high 30s.

From day one, the festival brought the heat — both literally and figuratively — with epic performances across three stages. Headliner Snoh Aalegra captivated the crowd with her soulful, emotive set, proving why she’s a critically acclaimed Roc Nation artist. Following closely were international acts that brought a global flair to the festival:

  • Mick Jenkins: The Chicago-born rapper delivered thought-provoking narratives over jazz-infused beats.
  • Ayra Starr: The Nigerian Afropop sensation had the audience dancing and singing along to her passionate performance.
  • BLK Odyssy: Merging elements of funk, soul, and rock, he gave a performance that was entirely unique and unforgettable.
  •  6lack: The American R&B star treated fans to his smooth vocals, reminding everyone why he became a sensation with tracks like “Prblms.”

South African talent shone brilliantly, lighting up the stages with an array of genres. From Sun El Musician’s electronic beats to the soulful sounds of Shekhinah, everyone were treated to a showcase of local excellence. Nasty C, Sjava, Prince Kaybee, Mi Casa, Matthew Mole, Omagoqa, DJ Lag and many others added to the star power, creating an electrifying atmosphere from start to finish. And, of course, DJ Kent played the perfect festival-closing set at the Beach Cub.

Additional Festival Highlights included:

GalXBoy x Rocking the Daisies Fashion Show: The festival’s fashion scene reached new heights with the GalXBoy collaboration, showcasing the trendiest festival styles. The fashion show crowned a standout winner, Tadiwanshe Karen Kaparipari, who wowed judges and audiences alike, winning an internship with iconic South African clothing brand GalXBoy and the opportunity to collaborate with RTD on official festival merch in 2025.

The merch was on sale over the weekend and was a clear hit. But for anyone who wasn’t at Daisies, you’ll be able to shop the limited range online soon. Look out for the link on Daisies’ platforms.

The SuperSportBet Sports Centre Three-a-Side Soccer Tournament: The festival’s sports enthusiasts went head-to-head in the Three-a-side soccer tournament, bringing an extra element of fun and competition.

Secret Sunrise Yoga: Saturday morning kicked off with a serene and uplifting Secret Sunrise yoga session. It was the perfect way for festival-goers to recharge and connect under the early morning sky.

The Coke Studio Deck, a new addition this year, was a clear standout hit—a club within the festival that created an exciting turn-up and high-energy vibe!

Saturday morning also brought smiles as attendees were treated to free coffee, giving everyone that extra kickstart for the exciting day ahead.

Daisy Town was alive with energy, offering everything from daytime beats at the Flying Fish Beach Club to action-packed moments at the SuperSportBet Sports Centre. It was a weekend of non-stop music, dancing, laughter, and memories.

As one attendee put it, “The energy at #Daisies2024 was unreal! From the music to the people, every moment was magic!” Another fan shared, “Rocking the Daisies brought the heat – quite literally! Dancing under the stars was everything we hoped for and more.”

As the sun set and the music faded on Rocking the Daisies 2024, the festival has once again proven why it’s one of South Africa’s most loved music and lifestyle events. This year’s edition has set a high bar, leaving everyone already looking forward to what 2025 will bring. Until next year, Daisies!
