The Forum at Hyde Park Corner: Elevating Luxury Events in Johannesburg

Expanding its legacy of luxury and sophistication, Hyde Park Corner welcomed The Forum Hyde Park, a world-class events venue designed to redefine Johannesburg’s event landscape. Located on the seventh floor with breathtaking city views, The Forum Hyde Park seamlessly integrates refined aesthetics with versatile functionality, creating the perfect destination for corporate events, exclusive gatherings, and grand celebrations.

Hyde Park Corner’s Marketing spokesperson, Sheree McHaffie commented: “Positioned within the heart of one of Johannesburg’s most beloved shopping and lifestyle precincts, The Forum Hyde Park enhances Hyde Park Corner’s already impressive array of offerings, including the Southern Sun Hyde Park hotel and Workshop17’s newest collaborative workspace. This combination of premier hospitality, business, and retail makes Hyde Park Corner a truly dynamic destination.”

A Premier Destination for Unforgettable Events

With a capacity of up to 400 guests, The Forum Hyde Park is designed to cater to high-profile occasions, from corporate functions and gala dinners to private celebrations. Its expansive nine-metre-high ceilings, panoramic windows, and elegant detailing set a new benchmark for event venues in Johannesburg.

A Distinctive Addition to Hyde Park Corner

The Forum Hyde Park epitomises elegance, with interiors inspired by the lush greenery surrounding Hyde Park. Designed by Tonic Design, the venue features an exquisite blend of natural wood, green marble, and abundant natural light, creating an atmosphere that is both warm and luxurious. Notably, the venue pays homage to South African artistry, with a striking plasterwork frieze inspired by Cecil Skotnes and sculptures by Walter Oltman, ensuring that every event held here is infused with cultural depth and sophistication.

Glynis Hyslop, Managing Director of The Forum, expressed her excitement about the venue’s launch: “Our vision was to craft a venue that embodies both grandeur and intimacy. The stack-back doors connecting indoor and outdoor spaces, alongside the beautifully landscaped reception area, create a seamless flow that is ideal for all occasions.”

Philippe van der Merwe, Co-Founder of Tonic Design, added: “We focused on creating a space that feels both timeless and contemporary. The ceiling and frieze designs were key focal points, drawing attention not only from within the venue but even from passing motorists.”

Hyde Park Corner, long recognised as a hub of retail and convenience, now boasts an impressive event destination that enhances its appeal. The addition of The Forum Hyde Park, in conjunction with Southern Sun Rosebank’s premium accommodation and Workshop17’s innovative workspaces, solidifies Hyde Park Corner as Johannesburg’s premier lifestyle and business destination.
