South African Hip-Hop Trailblazer Lowfeye Drops Long-Awaited Debut Album “NOSANGE”

Having been recognized as one of the leading voices in modern South African hip-hop shaping and influencing a new generation through music, culture, and artistic innovation, Qwellers member and co-founder Lowfeye officially releases “NOSANGE,” his debut album.

NOSANGE is named in honor of the rapper’s late mother, a central and transformative influence in both his life and artistry. “With this project, I want to tell a story. I want people to understand where I come from and how I grew up into the person I am today,” said Lowfeye. The project’s direction is already evident through its first singles, “Mission Man”, “Mabulala Amakhosi” & Trauma (with Ciniso) which showcase his confident side, while the meaning behind the album’s title hints at a personal & vulnerable side as well that fans can anticipate.

Lowfeye’s debut album marks a significant milestone not only for him, but also for the fans who have supported him throughout his journey. Over the years, he has celebrated notable achievements, including earning a platinum plaque for his feature on Typhoon with music heavyweight Sjava, releasing one of 2024’s most refreshing projects with Mfana ka Makhululu, and embarking on an impressive feature run that earned him placements on classics such as Riky Rick’s Boss Zonke Forever and Emtee’s DIY 3 (Deluxe).

In January 2026, Lowfeye set the tone for what was to come with Days Before Nosange — a tightly curated EP that served as a prelude to the NOSANGE album. Featuring standout appearances from Priddy Ugly and 25K, the project has since amassed 1.2 million streams across digital streaming platforms, reinforcing the growing anticipation around his evolving sound.

With undeniable momentum behind him, the Dundee-born singer-songwriter couldn’t have chosen a more powerful moment to unveil his debut album, NOSANGE.

About Lowfeye
There’s a quiet intention in the way Lowfeye moves — the kind that doesn’t chase the moment, but shapes it. Born Sibusiso Blessing Sibisi on January 9, 2001, the Gauteng-born artist, whose story stretches across the Eastern Cape and finds grounding in Dundee, KwaZulu-Natal, has been steadily carving out a sound that sits at the intersection of Hip-Hop, Afro-soul and Afro-pop. As a co-founder of the Qwellers collective, and under the alias Mabulala, he exists both as an individual voice and as part of a wider cultural movement rooted in authenticity, collaboration and sonic exploration.

His rise has been marked by defining moments, most notably the Gold-certified “Typhoon” alongside his idol Sjava — a full-circle collaboration that signalled his arrival. Since then, releases like “Khukhumele,” “Mission Man,” “Bonga Njalo” featuring Sjava and LaCabra, “IYGEBENGU,” and his appearance on Emtee’s DIY 3 (Deluxe) on “4 DA TRENCHES” have continued to build his momentum, while “Imibuzo” reflects a deeper, more introspective layer to his artistry. By early 2026, Lowfeye’s growth feels deliberate and undeniable, with a rapidly expanding audience and a clear vision to position himself as a global African voice.
