Ami Faku and Simmy Bring Magic to Walter Sisulu Gardens Headlining the Sunset Music Series on 1 June 2025

Johannesburg music lovers are in for a treat. The Sunset Music Series, known for its unforgettable outdoor concerts in Kirstenbosch, Cape Town, has arrived in Gauteng bringing world-class talent to one of the province’s most breathtaking venues: the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden.

On Sunday, 1 June 2025, two of South Africa’s most transcendent voices, Ami Faku and Simmy, will headline the next instalment of the Sunset Music Series at the majestic Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden. More than just another gig, this is the spark of something much bigger: a living, breathing celebration of Joburg’s artistic soul, nestled beneath the iconic Witpoortjie Waterfall. Whether you’re a long-time fan or simply looking for something special to do in Johannesburg this season, this series offers something fresh, beautiful, and unmissable.

Brought to life by the same team behind the Mother City’s most iconic sunset concerts, this new series is Joburg’s answer to what’s been missing: an elevated music experience that gives artists a stage worthy of their gifts – and gives the city a reason to gather, connect, and lift each other higher.

Ami Faku, known for her soulful, spellbinding voice and platinum-certified hits, brings a magnetic presence that transcends borders. Simmy, with her ethereal blend of neo-soul and Afro-house, is a genre-defying powerhouse. Together, under an open sky and against a cliffside soaked in golden light, they promise an unforgettable live concert experience.

Bring your picnic baskets and blankets. Bring your families. Bring your friends. While no alcohol may be brought in, fully stocked bars and a variety of delicious food vendors will be available on-site. Your own food is welcome.

And don’t stop at just one. The final concert in this debut season lands on Saturday, 14 June 2025, headlined by the stirring voices of Lloyiso and Filah Lah Lah – a perfect follow-up for those who believe in the healing power of sound, nature, and community.

Johannesburg, this is for you. Let’s show up. Let’s show out. Let’s make this ours.
