Drag Race Superstar Latrice Royale Returns to South Africa After 13 Years

Legendary RuPaul’s Drag Race icon and fan favourite, Latrice Royale, is set to make a triumphant return to South Africa this November for two dazzling live performances:  one in Cape Town and one in Johannesburg.

This marks the celebrated performer’s first visit to South Africa in 13 years, and fans can expect all the charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent that have made Latrice an international drag superstar, with her acclaimed show: Terms and Conditions May Vary.

“I’m way overdue for another visit and performance in South Africa,” says Latrice Royale.

“The energy, the love, and the passion from South African audiences are unmatched. I’ve missed it so much, and I can’t wait to reconnect with everyone again!”

Known for her larger-than-life personality, infectious laughter, and powerhouse performances, Latrice first captured hearts on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 4, and later on All Stars 1 and All Stars 4. Since then, she’s become one of the world’s most respected and adored drag performers, touring globally with sold-out shows and spreading her message of self-love, joy, and resilience.

Latrice’s South African tour will feature a star-studded line-up, including her husband, Christopher Hamblin, and three of South Africa’s most celebrated drag performers: Manila Von Teez, Kat Gilardi, and Stella Rosé,  making this a glittering showcase of international and local drag excellence.

“It’s an absolute honour to share the stage with a global icon like Latrice Royale,” says Manila Von Teez. “She’s inspired so many of us to be fearless and authentic, so to see her perform live again in South Africa is going to be pure magic!”

Cape Town drag legend Kat Gilardi adds, “Latrice Royale embodies everything that makes drag so powerful: heart, humour, and humanity. Her presence uplifts every space she walks into, and we can’t wait to give her that big South African welcome she deserves.”

Rising star Stella Rosé says, “Performing alongside Latrice is truly a dream come true. She’s paved the way for so many of us in the drag community. This show is going to be unforgettable – a real celebration of love, pride, and performance.”

Audiences can expect a night bursting with music, comedy, glamour, and heartfelt moments, as Latrice and her all-star cast bring an unforgettable celebration of drag, artistry, and empowerment to South African stages.

“I’ve always said drag is about connection – it’s about celebrating who you are, no matter where you’re from,” adds Latrice. “And South Africa has always shown me nothing but love. I’m so ready to give that love right back!”
