Curro Holdings Appoints Dricus Basson As Executive Head Of Curro Nelspruit Strengthening Leadership And Learning In The Lowveld

Curro Holdings is pleased to announce the appointment of Dricus Basson as Executive Head of Curro Nelspruit, effective 1 January 2026. Basson brings a wealth of experience from both the public education and private sectors, combining academic excellence with proven leadership capabilities.

At a time when South African education demands both innovation and commitment to quality, Basson’s appointment represents Curro’s continued move toward merging academic excellence with leadership experience. His credentials read like a blueprint for modern educational leadership: a Master’s in Business Administration from Belgium’s respected Vlerick Business School, complemented by a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Cum Laude) from the University of South Africa, and degrees in Economic Sciences from Stellenbosch University.

With over a decade of experience in education, Basson brings a wealth of expertise from two of the Western Cape’s most respected schools. As Deputy Principal of Parel Vallei High School, he oversaw academic excellence, facilities management, and the pastoral programme. Prior to this, he spent seven years at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch, honing his skills as an academic subject head, grade head, and member of the management team.

As a husband and father of four, Basson brings personal understanding to his professional commitment. His leadership philosophy is grounded in integrity and gratitude, values that will shape his approach to nurturing both learners and staff.
