Sun City Hosts SA’s Most Exclusive Celebrity Weekend

The Palace Hotel at Sun City became the hottest spot in South Africa when Celebrity Drive 2025 brought together the country’s most loved entertainers for a weekend that had everything – glamour, fun, and plenty of heart.

When Kelly Khumalo walked through those doors, you knew this was going to be special. She was joined by screen favorites Sonia Mbele and Sophie Ndaba, creating a lineup that had fans talking across social media. Add fashion genius Gert-Johan Coetzee, TV star Zikhona Zodlaka, and social media sensation Katz Sinovesan to the mix, and you have the ultimate celebrity gathering.

The talent didn’t stop there – actress Simphiwe Ngema, singer Simphiwe Dana, stylist Tansey Coetzee, and presenter Lethabo Lejoy made sure every corner of the entertainment industry was represented. SABC Trends had exclusive access to document the entire experience. Their cameras followed the BMW luxury fleet from Gauteng and captured every behind-the-scenes moment that fans are dying to see. This wasn’t just another red-carpet event – it was real celebrities in their natural element.

The weekend had touches of international class with Swiss Herbelin watches adorning celebrity wrists and Lascento’s premium Xerjoff fragrances adding that extra special touch. J’adore Champagne kept the celebration mood flowing from start to finish. Nobody expected Gert-Johan Coetzee to turn the gala dinner into an impromptu fashion showcase, but that’s exactly what happened. SYNC Models walked his latest designs while celebrities enjoyed Glenfiddich tastings. Lungstar Creations transformed the space into something straight out of a fashion magazine.

Natalie Naidoo; Brand Manager Uniq Brows stole hearts with her speech about real beauty and confidence. Her message resonated especially with the female stars who face constant pressure to look perfect. It was one of those moments that reminded everyone what really matters. All the glamour was nice, but the real story happened in Rustenburg. Watching our biggest stars interact with children at the HIV care facility showed the true meaning of celebrity. Sonia Mbele, Sophie Ndaba and the rest of the gang proved that fame means nothing if you use it to help others. Thanks to McDonald’s and the Mmakola Foundation, the impact was even bigger.

Celebrity Drive 2025 wasn’t just a party – it was proof that South African talent deserves world-class treatment. SABC’s footage will show the country that when our celebrities come together, something magical happens.

The countdown to Celebrity Drive 2026 starts now!
