HYROX is not for the faint-hearted. It takes training, endurance, mental grit and sheer willpower. But whether you’re a seasoned competitor or just starting your fitness journey, everyone has to start somewhere.

With the official HYROX race coming up at the end of November, Body Action Gym in Bedfordview is giving fitness enthusiasts one last chance to put their preparation to the test.

On Saturday 14 November, Body Action Gym is hosting a HYROX Physical Fitness Test (PFT), a timed fitness challenge designed to give you a taste of what awaits on race day. It’s also a chance to test your pacing, strength and endurance before the real thing.

And here’s what you’re in for:

  • 1 000 m run
  • 50 burpee broad jumps
  • 100 stationary lunges
  • 1 000 m row
  • 30 hand-release push-ups
  • 100 wall balls

Sounds tough? It is! But that’s the point. The pace that feels comfortable at the start becomes harder to maintain as fatigue sets in. That’s when determination really kicks in.

The PFT is a chance to see how your fitness stacks up, discover where you need to push harder and get a better idea of which HYROX race division suits you. It’s a benchmark, not a qualifying test, giving you a clearer picture of your strengths and what still needs work. It’s also an opportunity to experience the atmosphere, test your mental strength and see just how much you’ve got in the tank.

And you don’t have to be a Body Action Gym member to take part. The event is open to the public, bringing fitness enthusiasts and training partners together to take on the same challenge. So, bring your determination, get your sweat on and give it your best shot.
