Archive Expands with a New Creative Hub at Fourways Mall

Archive, South Africa’s premier sneaker and streetwear retailer, debuts its latest store at Fourways Mall, Johannesburg.

But this is more than just another retail expansion; it’s the next chapter in Archive’s evolution as a cultural incubator, where fashion, art, music, and design intersect.

As Archive redefines the traditional retail model, its Fourways store will serve as a hybrid space where commerce meets creativity. Beyond offering sought-after fashion and footwear, the Fourways store will serve as a creative hub for local artists. It will host conversations with creatives, curated exhibitions, and live activations, providing a canvas for South African talent to showcase, sell their work and engage with a broader audience.

The event highlighted The Artist Project, an ongoing initiative dedicated to providing a platform for South African creatives. The opening featured artwork by Dada Marumo, a Johannesburg-based illustrator and animator whose Afro-Surrealist style merges 3D, AR, and collage art. His work explores themes of Black identity, agency, and creative expression, and was created in celebration of the PUMA x KidSuper collaboration.

The PUMA x KidSuper collection reimagines classic football styles with bold artwork and statement graphics, merging art and sport in a celebration of creativity. This collection, available at Archive stores, exemplifies a shared vision of artistic storytelling.

To celebrate the opening, PUMA will power a series of in-store activations, reinforcing its longstanding relationship with Archive. From immersive brand experiences to live creative sessions, this collaboration speaks to a shared vision, one where fashion is more than just apparel but a cultural statement.

About the Artist Project

An ode to South Africa’s creative landscape, the Artist Project sees the transformation of Archive’s physical and digital spaces into curated galleries. The Artist Project is more than a single event; it is an ongoing initiative dedicated to uplifting South African artists. Archive believes in creating a space where art meets commerce, allowing local talent to thrive and gain visibility locally and on international platforms.
