Hisense SA has confirmed a R240,000 sponsorship that will cover the tuition of the Real Madrid Foundation’s most talented South African soccer player for the next five years. The sponsorship aims to support a 12-year-old rising star in pursuing his dream of breaking into the European leagues.
The announcement was made on Monday, 29 September, at Hisense SA’s premium product showcase held at The Residency at Groot Constantia in Cape Town. Several young soccer players from the Real Madrid Foundation were present to witness the announcement, while participating in the celebrations. Jevron Epstein, CEO of Generation Schools and the President of the Real Madrid Foundation South Africa, was there to accept the cheque.
Speaking at the event, Luna Nortjie, Deputy General Manager of Hisense SA, said: “At Hisense, we believe in empowering the next generation, whether through cutting-edge technology or supporting young South Africans in pursuing their dreams. This sponsorship reflects our long-standing partnership with the Real Madrid Foundation and our commitment to investing not only in innovation, but also in the future of our youth. We are proud to play a role in helping this young player chase his goal of reaching the European leagues.”
The event also served as the launch for Hisense SA’s most advanced product range to date, including the unveiling of the largest TV in South Africa – the 116-inch RGB-Mini-LED TV. Guests were treated to an immersive showcase of Hisense’s premium portfolio, including the Hisense Canvas TV, a smart fridge powered by AI with a touch-screen and motion-detection features, and a selection of gaming TVs and screens, with Formula 1 e-sim racing experiences available on-site.
The partnership between Hisense SA and the Real Madrid Foundation forms part of the company’s ongoing commitment to community development, sport, and education, while showcasing Hisense’s leadership in premium home entertainment and smart appliance technology.
