Meta today hosted its first-ever Creator Braai in South Africa, bringing together over 200 content creators at the iconic Level Three venue in Johannesburg for an immersive celebration of South African creativity and digital innovation. The event showcased Meta’s latest creator tools and monetization opportunities while honoring the country’s vibrant braai culture.
The daylong event featured hands-on workshops with Instagram Edits, Meta’s AI-powered video editing app that allows creators to transform their content using over 50 style presets, alongside comprehensive training on Facebook monetization programs including In-stream Ads, Facebook Stars, and Subscriptions. Creators also explored Threads for community building and WhatsApp Channels for direct audience engagement.

- The event highlighted Meta AI, Meta’s advanced AI assistant that helps creators generate captions, brainstorm content ideas, and enhance their creative workflow. In a special fireside chat with creator Mpho_Pink, titled “Level Up Your Content with Meta AI,” Kezia Anim-Addo, Communications Director for Africa, Middle East & Turkey demonstrated how creators can leverage AI to streamline content creation while maintaining their authentic voice.
- Complemented by live entertainment from local artists, creators experienced dedicated activation zones including the Facebook Oasis for monetization training, the Instagram Visual Pod for Reels best practices, the Edits Exploration Bar for hands-on video editing, and the Threads Social Zone for community engagement strategies.
