MATH Wine Club Welcomes Waterford Wines With A Curated Menu By Chef Eric Mphela

The MATH Wine Club Redefines Johannesburg’s Wine Culture

MATH Restaurant is proud to announce the next edition of the MATH Wine Club, taking place on Thursday, 28 May at Waterfall Corner. Continuing its commitment to curating elevated culinary and wine experiences, the upcoming gathering will spotlight the celebrated Stellenbosch estate, Waterford Wines.

Guests will arrive from 18:00 for an 18:30 seating, where they will be guided through a refined four-course dining experience curated by Chef Eric Mphela. Each course will be paired with a distinct selection from Waterford Wines’ acclaimed portfolio, creating an evening centred around exceptional food, remarkable wines, and meaningful conversation.

Renowned for its terroir-driven wines, regenerative farming practices, and classic Old World winemaking philosophy, Waterford Wines has become one of South Africa’s most respected wine estates. Rooted in the ancient soils of Stellenbosch, the estate is celebrated for allowing each varietal to express a distinct sense of place, with Cabernet Sauvignon standing as a cornerstone of its acclaimed production. Its flagship wine, The Jem, alongside its renowned Cabernet Sauvignon, reflects Waterford’s enduring dedication to craftsmanship, balance, and quality.

Since its inception, the MATH Wine Club has cultivated a welcoming and elevated space where wine culture feels both accessible and aspirational. Bringing together tastemakers, creatives, professionals, and wine enthusiasts alike, the experience continues to grow as a community-driven platform rooted in discovery and shared connection.

“MATH Wine Club has always been about more than wine,” says the founder of MATH Restaurant Puleng Mathabathe. “It’s about creating moments where people can slow down, connect, and experience culture through food, storytelling, and shared conversation. Partnering with a prestigious estate like Waterford Wines allows us to continue raising the standard of these experiences while still maintaining the warmth and sense of community that defines the club.”

Whether attending alone or alongside friends, guests are welcomed into an environment designed to foster conversation, curiosity, and connection around the table.

The MATH Wine Club continues to position itself as one of Johannesburg’s emerging lifestyle experiences, where exceptional hospitality, curated dining, and wine culture intersect in a distinctly modern and community-focused setting.
