Hisense SA partners with A Minecraft Movie to bring big-screen adventures into South African homes

Hisense SA is proud to announce its partnership with “A Minecraft Movie”, the first-ever live-action adaptation of the best-selling video game of all time. Releasing in cinemas across South Africa on 4 April 2025, with select pre screenings taking place on 3 April, the film promises to deliver quests, mayhem, and now, thanks to Hisense SA, a chance to upgrade your home to celebrate this cinematic experience.

The local partnership blends cinematic excitement with cutting-edge technology, turning the joy of Minecraft into a lifestyle experience for fans of all ages. Whether you’re building castles, battling Piglins, or just watching it all unfold on the BIG screen, Hisense SA’s premium range of locally manufactured TVs and home appliances could play an integral role in making your home feel like part of the adventure, with richer colours and crisper sound.

“Fans who head to the Hisense SA social media pages and successfully answer “A Minecraft Movie” Quiz-Questions will stand a chance to win a range of Hisense SA products and tickets to A Minecraft Movie, through weekly prize draws,” comments Luna Nortje, Deputy General Manager of Hisense SA.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, and directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite), “A Minecraft Movie” stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Emma Myers, Oscar nominee Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Hansen, and Jennifer Coolidge. The film follows four misfits: Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers), and Dawn (Brooks), who are pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld, a bizarre cube-shaped wonderland where imagination is the key to survival. Teaming up with expert crafter Steve (Black), the group must take on Piglins, Zombies, and their own self-doubt as they navigate a world built from blocks, while rediscovering the creativity they lost back in the real world.

“Hisense SA’s collaboration with “A Minecraft Movie” hopes to turn every South African home into a canvas for adventure. After all, why stop at building your dream world on screen when you can live it in your lounge?” concludes Nortje.
