bartenders went head-to-head in a celebration of skill, passion, and flavour innovation.
Rising to the top was Alexander Fahrenheim, who impressed the jury with his original
creation—the Royal Fool Swizzle—a cocktail that captures the spirit of modern mixology
while paying homage to the timeless elegance of a swizzle. With rich, fruity layers and a hint of spice, it’s a refreshing yet complex serve that reflects ANGOSTURA®’s enduring
influence on cocktail craftsmanship.
Royal Fool Swizzle Recipe
60ml ANGOSTURA® 7-Year-Old Rum (or a local rum)
45ml Rhubarb & Vanilla Cordial
45ml Moroccan Mint, Star Anise, Ginger Dry Vermouth
2 dashes ANGOSTURA® orange bitters
2 dashes ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters
METHOD
Alexander combined the smooth, full-bodied character of ANGOSTURA® 7-Year-Old Rum
with a vibrant rhubarb and vanilla cordial, lifted by aromatic dry vermouth infused with
Moroccan mint, ginger, and star anise. Finished with a double dash of both ANGOSTURA®
aromatic bitters and orange bitters, the cocktail is perfectly chilled and swizzled—bright,
bold, and brilliantly balanced.
