Experience the magic of Disney at Capegate’s Ice Rink and festive cheer at the Outdoor Christmas Market

This holiday season, Capegate is transforming into a hub of festive joy and family fun with the return of the Capegate Ice Rink inspired by Disney and the much-anticipated Capegate Outdoor Festive Market.

The Capegate Ice Rink, open from 12 December 2024 to 12 January 2025, invites children aged 3 to 13 years to skate their way into a magical holiday experience. Located at Bridge Court near Entrance 4, the rink offers 50-minute sessions at just R70 per person, including skate hire. As a longstanding holiday highlight, the ice rink is back for the fifth time, promising unforgettable moments for families.

“Every year, the Capegate Ice Rink captures the hearts of our community, with attendance growing steadily,” said Zoë Enslin, Marketing Manager at Capegate. “Having a kids’ ice rink in the mall makes Capegate the ultimate holiday destination where families can eat, drink, shop, and skate under one roof. We’re thrilled to see the joy this event brings to our visitors.”

Parents can either join their little ones on the ice for the same session fee or assist from the sidelines. For younger skaters aged 3 to 5 years, parental accompaniment is required. To ensure safety, trained professionals will be on hand throughout the sessions. Tickets are available on Webtickets, with walk-ins welcome via cash or card payments.

A Festive Market to Remember

Adding to the seasonal excitement is the Capegate Outdoor Festive Market, running until Christmas Eve, 24 December 2024. Located in the outdoor parking area near Entrance 4, the market is open daily during Capegate’s extended festive trading hours. With over 380 vendors, the market features unique crafts, artisanal gourmet treats, and handmade gifts, making it the perfect stop for holiday shopping.“The Festive Market is not just about finding the perfect gift, it’s about supporting local artisans and embracing the spirit of community,” added Enslin.

Visitors can also make use of the mall’s festive photo booth and gift-wrapping stations, where proceeds contribute to the Hyprop Foundation’s community initiatives.Capegate is more than a mall, it’s a festive destination where families create lasting memories.
