Tracy J Embraces Peace and Power in Latest R&B Hit ‘Energy’

Atlanta’s rising R&B star Tracy J has released his highly anticipated new single, “Energy,” a soulful track that captures the exhaustion and frustration of unrequited love. Originally conceived as a potential pitch for pop legend Janet Jackson, the song was held onto by producer and co-writer Quintin “Arsnøvä” Pooler until one pivotal conversation revealed that Tracy J could add a unique and personal dimension to the track.

“When Quintin shared it with me, I felt an instant connection,” says Tracy J. “The song resonated deeply with my style and message, so I knew I had to make it my own.” “Energy” explores the emotional clarity that comes after realizing a relationship has taken more than it’s given.
Tracy J describes the song as “a raw, post-breakup reflection,” an anthem for anyone ready to reclaim their peace and let go of what’s been holding them back.
Produced by Quintin “Arsnøvä” Pooler, known for his work with artists like Harmony Samuels and Jaden Smith, and mixed by Grammy-nominated engineer Jose Cardoza, who’s collaborated with the likes of Ariana Grande and Ciara, “Energy” brings together the best of both worlds: timeless R&B emotion with modern, innovative production.
Tracy J’s signature sound blends classic R&B with a contemporary edge, fusing soulful storytelling with cutting-edge production. “I want to create a sense of nostalgia while still pushing boundaries,” he shares. His previous singles, including “Intrigue,” “Right Here,” and “Vacay,” highlight his ability to balance introspective depth with fresh musical direction.
Additionally, Tracy J executive-produced the soundtrack for the feature film Life Ain’t Like The Movies, collaborating with music legend Seven Bailey and featuring stars such as Paul Bates and Cynda Williams.Raised in Atlanta and influenced by his gospel roots, Tracy J’s musical journey began with singing and playing keys in church. Classically trained at Oral Roberts University, he toured with the gospel group Souls A’Fire, where he honed his distinct sound, blending R&B with soulful storytelling.
Drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Babyface, Brandy, and Prince, Tracy J’s aspirations are as big as his sound. “I would love to collaborate with Alex Isley, Jazmine Sullivan, and Nomfundo Moh,” he says. In addition to releasing more music, Tracy J plans to bring back his popular event “RnB Night by Tracy J” in Los Angeles, where fans can experience a night of live R&B music.
Stay tuned for more from Tracy J as he prepares for his highly anticipated debut album and continues to share his unique brand of R&B with the world.
