With the 2026 tax season in full swing, Citizen Leader Lab is calling on corporates, business leaders and individual taxpayers to support one of South Africa’s pressing priorities: Effective leadership in public schools.
School principals in under-resourced communities face unprecedented pressures. From addressing post-pandemic learning gaps and staff wellbeing, to managing limited resources and meeting strict accountability requirements, the role of a school principal has never been more demanding. Strong, supported leadership is the difference between a school that struggles and a school that succeeds.
Citizen Leader Lab’s leadership programmes are designed to meet this challenge head-on. Through collaborative partnerships, school principals participate in practical, facilitated learning journeys that build skills, strengthen decision-making and enhance leadership presence in schools. Participants engage in coaching, peer learning and hands-on problem-solving that translates into better outcomes for learners.

Over the past 16 years, Citizen Leader Lab has supported over 2000 school principals in all nine of South Africa’s provinces. Donations to Citizen Leader Lab are tax-deductible and corporate contributions can be allocated towards CSI budgets and B-BBEE commitments.
